Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau, a premier engineering consultancy organization at the forefront of infrastructure development in the country with wide range of expertise in different disciplines, invite applications from citizens of Sri Lanka for the below mentioned posts on Contract basis.

01Electrical EngineerAny one of the following qualifications from A to B. A.A Four year Degree in Engineering in the Electrical field recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Sri Lanka and recognized by the Institution of Engineers – Sri Lanka (IESL) and the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka (ECSL) for admission to the Class of Associate Member of IESL. B.Any other Degree / qualification in the Electrical field recognized by the Institution of Engineers – Sri Lanka (IESL) recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Sri Lanka as equivalent to a four year B.Sc Degree in Engineering and the Engineering Council of Sri Lanka (ECSL) for admission to the Class of Associate Member of IESL.One (01) year post qualified working experience.
02Engineering Assistant (Mechanical)Any one of the following qualification from A to D. A.National Diploma in Technology (NDT) in the relevant field awarded by the Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa (ITUM).B.National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES) conducted by the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET) Katunayake, in the relevant field under the National Apprentice and Industrial Authority (NAITA).C.Higher National Diploma in Engineering (HNDE) conducted by the Advanced Technological Institute (ATI), Mattakkuliya in the relevant field, under the Sri Lanka Institute of Advanced Technological Education (SLIATE).D.Diploma in Technology (Dip. Tech.) in the relevant field awarded by the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL).One (01) year post qualified working experience in Automobile Engineering and Vehicle Management functioning                                 field. (Education in the field of Automobile and vehicle maintenance will be highly considered)

Salary & Other Benefits :     I. Selected applicants will be placed on a suitable salary point depending on qualifications and experience as per the MSD Circular 02/2016.

II. Contribution of 12% and 3% of salary to the Employees Provident Fund and Employees Trust Fund respectively by the Bureau.

Method of Selection           :  Selections will be made on the order of merit determined by an Interview Panel.

CECB Annual Symposium 2022/23

The CECB Annual Symposium 2022/23, with the theme of “Bridging Borders: Exploring Global Connections,” took place at the Galle Face Hotel on January 18, 2024 and marked a momentous celebration of the golden jubilee of CECB.

Hon. Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi, the Minister of Irrigation, was the event’s chief guest, and Prof. Ananda Jayawardana, senior professor and chairman of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon, was the guest of honor.
The event creates a global platform for representing and igniting the internal expertise and scientific acumen that employees across several disciplines such as Water Resources, Coastal and Irrigation Engineering, Structural Engineering, Material Testing, and Building Performance Evaluation,Architectural and Sustainable Development and it demonstrates CECB’s dedication to expanding knowledge, encouraging teamwork, and motivating the next generation of professionals. Further, the forum leads to discuss future directions and priorities for CECB to contribute to self-reliant sustainable development of our nation

Professional Applications Of Paint Systems

A continuous professional development programme tittled “Professional applications of paint systems” was held on 22.11.2023 at CECB Auditorium. The event took place in a hybrid form.
Professional staff were focused and 150 (approx.) were offered the opportunity to take part in
the session, while others joined via Zoom and YouTube.
The team – Training Research & Development Unit was organised the programme with the
intention of up skilling the workforce consistently which enables the employees sharpen the
skills they have learned, speed up innovations in “processes” and to swiftly adopt the latest
technological developments.
The presentation was conducted by Mr. Prabath Jayawardana, B.Sc. (Hons), MBA, CIM
(UK).Head of Technical Support at Nippon Paint Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
Mr. Prabath talked about the practical concerns and remedial measures that arise up both during
and after application of painting systems. As the topic is much pertinent to today’s business
context, the engagement of the participants for the programme is proved to be very interactive.

Description:
The project comprised construction of a 87m high rock fill dam with upstream concrete membrane, having a crest length of 600 m, and radial gated chute type spillways. The concrete lined power tunnel is 6.8 km long. Installed capacity is 2 X 67 MW with provision for a third unit of 67 MW.
