CECB facilitates overseas training for its staff, initiated by the Ministry of Irrigation and the government
External Resources Department (ERD). Foreign Training is essential in order to face the challenges of
modern day development of a country, which demands state of the art knowledge and expertise especially
from its professional and technical personnel. Technical assistance programmes are offered by development
partners such as Korea, China, India, Japan, etc. The ERD plays a key role in facilitating these training
opportunities. CECB staff have had the opportunity of attending such programmes, such as those relating to
policy formulation and planning, designing and implementation of development projects, etc.
These training programmes have enabled to get a better understanding on international perspectives in
development and best practices with regard to the associated disciplines while acquiring new knowledge of
emerging technologies.
