Coastal defensive structures protect and enhance the level of safety of established human society and land against the dynamic coastal environment to mitigate the coastal hazards.

Therefore, breakwaters, sea walls, revetments, groins etc are needed to be introduced based on the requirement of the location. CECB has sound and broad experience in design and supervision these works. Recently, the technical staff of CECB fully engaged with the Colombo Port City Development Project in reclaimed area which is one of the major projects of the country.
